New York Court Transfers Auto-Related Asbestos Action to Florida Federal Court

NEW YORK –– A New York federal court has transferred an asbestos exposure lawsuit to the Middle District of Florida, reasoning that by selling its raw ingredients to manufacturers in Florida for three decades, one of the defendants could have reasonably anticipated being sued in a Florida court.

In the Dec. 21 order, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York also noted that a number of witnesses expected to be called currently reside in Florida.
