Kentucky Court Awards Summary Judgment to 5 Asbestos Defendants, Including John Crane, Georgia-Pacific

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –– A Kentucky federal court has awarded summary judgment to five asbestos defendants, opining in part that the companies could not be held liable for asbestos containing in another manufacturer’s product.

In another portion of the Nov. 16 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky rejected reliance on testimony that any exposure to asbestos constitutes substantial exposure.

In their complaint, the plaintiffs alleged that William Stallings was exposed to asbestos-containing products while serving in the U.S. Navy. Stallings specifically worked in fire rooms that contained boilers, turbines, and pumps.
