Calif. Appellate Court Affirms Summary Judgment Award in Solvent Contamination Case

LOS ANGELES –– A California appellate court has affirmed an award of summary judgment to a defendant named in a solvent contamination lawsuit, saying the plaintiffs had failed to meet the burden of proof in establish causation.

In the Oct. 23 opinion, the California Second Appellate District Court of Appeal rejected the plaintiffs’ contention that they were held to an “improperly high standard” of proof for establishing causation in the toxic exposure case.
