Trustee Appoints Committees To Oversee Armstrong Bankruptcy Proceedings

WILMINGTON, Del. - U.S. Trustee Frederic J. Baker has appointed a committee of asbestos claimants and of general unsecured creditors who will oversee the bankruptcy proceedings of Armstrong World Industries. In the Matter of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., No. 4469-4471 (D. Del. Bankr.).

Baker identified the two committees in orders entered Dec. 18 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Armstrong filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Dec. 5, saying the Chapter 11 protection would allow it to restructure its liabilities, while allowing day-to-day operations to continue at the Lancaster, Pa.-based …
