Concrete Cutter with Fibrosis Does Not Have Compensable Occupational Injury, Panel Holds

AUSTIN, Texas - A workers' compensation appeals panel has held that a former concrete cutter whose doctors identified as having job-related lung fibrosis, possibly silicosis, did not suffer from a compensable injury in the form an occupational disease and is, therefore, not disabled. John Doe v. Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co., No. 020873 (Texas Work. Comp. App.).

The Texas Workers Compensation Appeals Board upheld a hearing judge's decision, despite conflicting evidence presented at the hearing on nearly all issues.
