BALTIMORE - An in-state supplier of Biomet medical devices has moved to dismiss claims brought against it by a Maryland hip implant patient whose state-court lawsuit was removed to federal court last month. Harris v. Biomet, No. 1:12-cv-00575-BEL (D. Md.).

Mid Atlantic Medical LLC contends in a March 1 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland that plaintiff John H. Harris failed to offer any factual support for his claims and that the strict liability, negligence and warranty claims are "categorically barred."
