PEORIA, Ill. - A federal magistrate judge has overruled objections by Wright Medical Technology and allowed a hip implant patient to file an amended complaint alleging negligent misrepresentation and other wrongdoing. Janus, et ux. v. Wright Medical Technology Inc., et al., No. 11-CV-1183 (C.D. Ill.).

Magistrate Judge Byron G. Cudmore of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois said in his Dec. 20 opinion that Chester Janus should be allowed to amend his complaint to add causes of action that Wright argued were "futile."
