JPML Withdraws Conditional MDL Assignment of 2 Zimmer 'Natural Knee' Cases

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has vacated conditional transfer orders for two cases in which plaintiffs allege injury from implants of Zimmer "Natural-Knee Flex" systems, finding them unsuitable for coordination with cases in the NexGen MDL. In re: Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2272 (N.D. Ill.).

The JPML order was issued on Dec. 13 and came at the request of Zimmer Inc. and other defendants (See HarrisMartin's Hip & Knee Implant Litigation Report, Sept. 2011).
