NEWARK, N.J. - A federal judge has granted a stay sought by defendants in a New Jersey Pinnacle hip implant case despite the plaintiff's jurisdictional challenge. Davis v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 11-5139 (D. N.J.).

U.S. District Judge Jerome B. Simandle said in his Nov. 2 opinion that the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation is scheduled to consider the contested transfer issue on Dec. 1 and, if the case is transferred to the Pinnacle MDL in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the plaintiff's motion to remand is not unlike others being considered by …
