Judge Cites 'Judicial Economy' in Granting Motion to Stay ASR Hip Case

NEW ORLEANS - A Louisiana federal judge has agreed to stay a hip implant case pending transfer to the DePuy ASR hip implant MDL citing "judicial economy and efficiency." Navero v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 11-2252 (E.D. La.).

Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana granted the motion by DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. on Oct. 18.
