Zimmer Settles with Fla. Plaintiff Alleging Defect in Natural-Knee® Flex System

TAMPA, Fla. - A Florida mediator, who two weeks ago reported that the parties were at an impasse, notified a federal judge on June 1 that Zimmer US Inc. has settled on undisclosed terms with a plaintiff claiming that her Natural-Knee® Flex System failed because of a defect. Kierstead v. Zimmer US Inc., No. 8:10-cv-679-T-27AEP (M.D. Fla.).

On the same day, U.S. District Judge James D. Whittemore of the Middle District of Florida dismissed the action and denied as moot Zimmer's pending motion for summary judgment and plaintiff Mary E. Kierstead's motion for voluntary dismissal.
