Federal Judge Refuses to Transfer Paxil Suicide Case

PHILADELPHIA - In a Paxil suicide case, a Pennsylvania federal judge has denied the plaintiff's motion to transfer venue to New York federal court, ruling that the convenience of the parties and witnesses, and the interest of justice, weigh against transfer. Colacicco v. Apotex Inc., No. 05-5500 (E.D. Pa.).

On Dec. 10, U.S. District Judge Michael M. Baylson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania further ruled that the plaintiff, Joseph C. Colacicco, failed to demonstrate that the public and private interests weigh in favor of transfer.
