New Jersey Court Rejects Propulsid Plaintiffs' Nationwide Class Action Bid

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - A state judge in New Jersey has turned back a bid to certify a class of plaintiffs in the state's Propulsid litigation saying the putative members lack the predominance and demonstrated loss necessary to proceed as a group. Cartiglia, et al., v. Johnson & Johnson Co., et al., No. MID-L-2754-01 (N.J. Super. Ct., Middlesex Cty.).
Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Marina Corodemus rejected the class certification motion of those asserting consumer fraud and product liability-medical monitoring claims against Propulsid manufactuer Janssen Pharmaceutica and its parent company Johnson & Johnson.
