Minnesota Judge Grants Pfizer Judgment on Viagra Claims

MINNEAPOLIS - After excluding the opinions of plaintiffs' causation experts, a Minnesota federal judge has granted Pfizer Inc. summary judgment on claims that Viagra caused two men to suffer vision loss. In re Viagra Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 06-1724 (D. Minn.).

On Aug. 19, U.S. District Judge Paul A. Magnuson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota ruled that plaintiffs' causation experts either failed to establish that Viagra was the direct cause of plaintiffs' injuries or lacked the requisite qualifications.
