Federal Judge Bars Questioning of Attorneys With Regard To i3 Study

MIAMI - Applying the attorney work-product doctrine, a Florida federal judge has barred the deposition of attorneys in connection with Bayer Corp.'s acknowledged failure to timely disclose to the Food and Drug Administration a study that confirms the risks associated with Trasylol. In re Trasylol Products Liability Litigation, No. 08-1928 (S.D. Fla.).

Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida issued a protective order on Aug. 12, which bars the deposition of four attorneys from the law firm of Zuckerman Spaeder.
