Reinsurers Seek Transfer of $1.33 Million Case to Philadelphia

NEW YORK - Two reinsurers have moved to transfer to a Pennsylvania federal court a $1.33 million reinsurance dispute filed in New York federal court, arguing that the facts relating to TIG Insurance Co.'s claims arise from Philadelphia. TIG Insurance Co. v. Century Indemnity Co., No. 08-7322 (S.D. N.Y.).

In their Feb. 25 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Century Indemnity Co. and ACE Property and Casualty Insurance Co. assert that the claims have few, if any, ties to New York.
