HARTFORD, Conn. - In the wake of an adverse follow-the-fortunes ruling by a Connecticut federal judge, Argonaut Insurance Co. has agreed to settle an allocation dispute with its cedent, Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. v. Argonaut Insurance Co., No. 3:06CV1813 (D. Conn.).

In April, Judge Holly B. Fitzsimmons of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut refused to compel Hartford to produce documentation concerning insurance and reinsurance coverage for Foster Wheeler Corp.'s asbestos liabilities.

After receiving notice of the parties' settlement, Judge Warren W. Eginton on Sept. 24 ordered the docket closed.
