Munich Re Seeks Judgment in Hewlett-Packard Coverage Case

SAN FRANCISCO - Munich Reinsurance America Inc. has moved for judgment on the pleadings in a battle over coverage for deceptive advertising claims brought against Hewlett-Packard Co. The Tall Tree Insurance Co. v. Munich Reinsurance America Inc., No. 3:08-cv-01060 (N.D. Calif.).

In a June 20 brief, Munich Re argues that its cedent, The Tall Tree Insurance Co., has not been judicially declared liable to HP under the reinsured policies, therefore Munich Re's obligation under the reinsurance agreements has not been triggered.
