HARRISBURG, Pa. - Lincoln General Insurance Co. on July 7 asked a Pennsylvania federal judge to confirm its appointment of former Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Constance B. Foster as its party arbitrator in a dispute involving a reinsurance treaty that terminated in January 2005. Lincoln General Insurance Co. v. Clarendon National Insurance Co., et al., No. 4:08-cv-00582 (M.D. Pa.).

Lincoln General also asked Judge John E. Jones of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania to reject Clarendon National Insurance Co.'s appointment of Peter A. Scarpato as Lincoln General's party arbitrator.
