Prof. Fubini is with the Department of Chemistry IFM and Interdipartimental Center "G.Scansetti" for Studies on Asbestos and other Toxic Particulates at the Università di Torino in Torino, Italy. She is an expert on the relationships between surface characteristics, biological responses and toxicity of particulates, such as asbestos and silica polymorphs. In 1997 and 2001, Prof. Fubini was a member of two working groups on IARC Monographs on the evaluation of carcinogenic risks to humans concerning silica and other materials.
