Miami Jury Returns $1.25 Million Verdict in Chinese Drywall Case

MIAMI — Jurors in Florida have awarded more than $1.25 million to a couple whose home was damaged by Chinese drywall.
The verdict was returned Nov. 8 in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, where jurors concluded after a two-week trial that several defendants, including manufacturers Knauf Plasterboard (Tianjin) Co. and German affiliate, Knauf Gips KG, were liable for damages caused by the defective import.
The jury largely blamed the Knauf entities for the sulfur-induced corrosion that occurred within Jeffrey and Elisa Robin’s Miam residence after installation of the Chinese drywall, assessing 30 percent of fault to KPT and 64 percent …
