Ga. Federal Judge Orders Golden Isles to Reveal Recipient of Cash Transfer

ATLANTA — A Georgia federal judge has ordered Golden Isles Reinsurance Co. to reveal the identity of an individual who received a cash transfer from its bank account, so that Canal Insurance Co. may join that individual as a necessary party to a lawsuit accusing Golden Isles of draining its assets through fraudulent cash transfers.

On July 22, Judge Leigh M. May of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia held that Canal’s need for pre-answer discovery outweighs any prejudice that Golden Isles may suffer in having to produce the information.
