Plaintiffs Ask JPML to Create Federal Docket for Taxotere Hair Loss Actions

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two women who claim that Sanofi-Aventis’ breast cancer drug Taxotere caused them to permanently lose their hair have asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to create a federal docket for all 33 cases.

In a July 22 motion, Veronica Smith and Kelly Gahan argue that the plaintiffs in each of those cases allege Sanofi misrepresented Taxotere’s safety and effectiveness while failing to warn doctors and patients that the rate of alopecia was far greater than with other available chemotherapy drugs.
