New Lawsuits Filed in Pa., N.Y., Accuse Eliquis Makers of Failing to Warn of Uncontrollable Bleeding

NEW YORK — Plaintiffs whose spouses died after taking the anticoagulant Eliquis have sued Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer in New York and Pennsylvania, accusing the drug makers of failing to warn that in the event of uncontrollable bleeding, there is no antidote to the drug.
The lawsuits further charge that despite life-threatening bleeding findings in a clinical trial, the drug makers failed to adequately test Eliquis before seeking approval from the Food and Drug Administration.
