Missouri Court Allows Plaintiffs Leave to File First Amended Complaint to Add 12 Plaintiffs Over Defense Objections




ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri state court has issued an order allowing the current plaintiffs in a multi-plaintiff suit to add additional party plaintiffs bringing allegations that use of talc-based body powder products caused them to develop ovarian cancer.

The Missouri Circuit Court for St. Louis City ruled on April 20 that the plaintiffs file a first amended petition to add 12 party plaintiffs, rejecting oppositions lodged by the defendants involved in the case, including Imerys Talc America Inc.

The plaintiffs filed their motion to amend on March 30. The case currently involves claims brought by approximately 50 plaintiffs …
