Jury Awards $11 Million at Conclusion of Bellwether Conserve Hip Implant System MDL Trial

ATLANTA –– A jury has awarded $11 million to a bellwether plaintiff asserting claims against Wright Medical Technology Inc. for injuries she said arose after she was implanted with the defendant’s Conserve Hip Implant System.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia jury reached the verdict on Nov. 24 after two weeks of trial.

The jury broke its award into $1 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damages, sources told HarrisMartin.

A jury was empaneled in the bellwether case on Nov. 9; trial began one day later before Hon. William S. Duffey Jr.
