6th Circuit Revises Briefing Schedule in Appeal of Benzene Case Dismissed by Mich. Court

DETROIT –– The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit has revised its briefing schedule in the appeal filed by benzene plaintiffs whose claims were thrown out by a federal court, delaying the deadlines for briefs by two months.

According to a Nov. 12 letter to counsel, the 6th Circuit is asking the appellant’s brief to be filed by Jan. 15 and the appellee’s brief to be filed by Feb. 16.

The notice of appeal was filed by the plaintiffs on Sept. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, which determined in its ruling …
