Calif. Jury Enters $9.2 Million Verdict Against Zimmer in Durom Cup Hip Implant Case




LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has awarded $9.2 million at the conclusion of a trial involving Zimmer’s Durom Cup hip implant, which is believed to be the first verdict against the defendant for a metal-on-metal hip implant case, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing.

Judge Amy D. Hogue of the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County presided over the three-week trial. Jurors reached the verdict on July 24 after three-and-a-half hours of deliberations, sources told HarrisMartin.
