Calif. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Dispute in Diacetyl Food Flavoring Case, Reversal of Defense Verdict Stands




SAN FRANCISCO –– The California Supreme Court has denied a petition for review in a diacetyl food flavoring case, effectively affirming an intermediate appellate court’s decision to reverse a defense verdict on the ground that the plaintiff’s illegal immigrant status should not have been disclosed to potential jurors.

The California Supreme Court denied the petition for review and depublication request on April 15, according to the court’s online docket.

The defendants in the case had filed a petition for review on March 10 after the intermediate appellate court had denied their efforts to rehear the dispute.
