DAVENPORT, Iowa –– Two defendants named in a benzene suit have moved for summary judgment on the claims, arguing that during the time of alleged exposure, they did not own, operate or control the premises at which the plaintiff says he was exposed to benzene.

In a May 8 motion filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, defendants ACC Chemical Co. and Getty Chemical Co. maintained that a purchase agreement they entered into with Northern Petrochemical Co. releases them of any liability.
