Louisiana Court Enters Order Dismissing Intervenor Claims of Valero; Closes Benzene Case

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has entered an order dismissing intervenor claims of Valero Refining-New Orleans LLC in a benzene case with prejudice.

The early April order filed by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana comes after a number of settlement agreements and subsequent voluntary dismissal motions were entered in the case. The same day the order was entered, the case was terminated, according to the court’s online docket.

In February, the federal court dismissed claims asserted against The Dow Chemical Co. and Formosa Plastics Corp.
