NJ Federal Court Stays All Sandy Flood Litigation, Creates Master Docket

TRENTON, N.J. — Cases filed against flood insurers in the wake of Superstorm Sandy have been temporarily put on hold while the Federal Emergency Management Agency continues what a federal court called “intensive negotiations and settlement efforts” to resolve the claims.

In a March 13 order issued in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, Chief Judge Jerome B. Simandle issued a 60-day stay of all litigation of disputes over Superstorm Sandy flood damage claims pending against Write-Your-Own carriers in the district.
