Louisiana Parties in Benzene Case File Motions Attacking Expert Admissibility

NEW ORLEANS –– The parties in a Louisiana benzene lawsuit have filed several motions seeking the exclusion of expert testimony, with the plaintiffs arguing that one of the defense experts ignored a number of studies with “statistically significant results that show an increase[d] risk for gasoline exposure and AML.”

In one of its motions, defendant Shell Oil Co. attacked the exposure assessment opinion of a plaintiff expert, saying it is irrelevant as to the defendant.
