NEW YORK — A New York federal judge has dismissed an action alleging injuries caused by a Stryker replacement hip, finding the plaintiff failed to specify how the device’s hydroxyapatite coating caused his injuries.

In an Oct. 7 order dismissing the case in its entirety, Judge Jesse J. Furman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York held that the plaintiff failed to identify any actual defect in the hydroxyapatite coating.
