MINNEAPOLIS — A federal judge has refused to dismiss a class action brought by residents in a Minneapolis neighborhood who claim they face a threat of cancer and diminished property values resulting from toxic trichloroethylene (TCE) vapors that migrated from the defendant’s nearby industrial facility.

In a Sept. 4 decision, Judge Donovan W. Frank of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota rejected all of defendant General Mills Inc.’s challenges to the plaintiffs’ second amended class action complaint, determining that it adequately pled causes of action based on alleged harm caused by the TCE contamination.
