Boston Scientific Obtryx Sling System Plaintiffs Ordered to Submit to Medical Examinations

CHARLESTON, W. Va. — A federal magistrate judge has ordered plaintiffs in eight pelvic mesh cases to submit to independent physical examinations, finding Boston Scientific Corp. had good cause to request the exams because plaintiffs have placed their urogynecologic conditions squarely at issue.

On July 1, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Eifert of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia further found that the doctors chosen by Boston Scientific to perform the exams are duly qualified.
