JPML Creates Federal MDL For Franck’s Compounding Pharmacy Actions

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Aug. 7 created a consolidated docket for all federal lawsuits brought against Franck’s Lab Inc. and Franck’s Pharmacy Inc. involving their compounded pharmaceutical products.

The 20 actions regard injuries allegedly caused by drugs compounded by Franck’s that were contaminated by fungus or other toxins and resulted in rare eye infections, blindness and other injuries. The panel found the injury actions “involve common questions of fact, and that centralization in the Eastern District Louisiana will serve the convenience of the parties and witnesses and promote the just and efficient conduct of …
