Calif. Court Sets March 6 Hearing on DePuy ASR Plaintiff’s Motion for Early Trial

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Superior Court has scheduled a March 6 hearing on an elderly Oregon plaintiff’s request for an early trial date in his ASR hip implant suit against DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. (NYSE: JNJ).
Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer, who oversees California’s coordinated DePuy ASR hip implant docket, scheduled the hearing following the Feb. 11 submission of Michael Cham’s reply to DePuy’s opposition brief.
Cham’s counsel submitted a Motion for Trial Preference Jan. 7, stating that while Cham’s infection is currently in remission, he is 83, was previously in hospice care, and “his doctors believe …
