Pennsylvania Federal Court Consolidates 2 Suits Involving Same Drilling Leases

PITTSBURGH — A federal judge has granted motions to consolidate two lawsuits involving Chesapeake Appalachia and the same Pennsylvania landowners who allege bad faith and fraud in the procurement of drilling leases, saying the move was for pretrial purposes only. Chesapeake Appalachia LLC v. McRoberts, et al., No. 12-cv-379; McRoberts, et al. v. Chesapeake Energy Corp., et al., No. 2:12-cv-00514-DSC (W.D. Pa.).
